Share Your Story

Hey there fellow writers and readers. Lets Write Stories together. For all those interested in writing a short story, I would be more than happy to post what you have written. Of course, you will receive full credit for any stories you write. There is no limit to the number of short stories you submit. And if you have your own writing blog or site, I'll provide one link to the site. Links are ONLY for related and relevant blogs and sites. Any and all links are made by me, not you. I will not provide links to irrelevant sites and spammers. Below are the general guidelines, be sure to look them over before you submit your short story. And yes, you must follow it to the letter.

For Submitting your Short Story

1. Any and all stories Must be Original. No Plagiarism.

2. All stories must be written in English. As I will be reviewing every story to ensure it follows the guidelines, obviously, I must be able to read it.

3. All stories must be 12 point font size. I don't care what you use, Times New Roman, Arial, Verdana, etc, as long as it's legible. If I can't read it, I'll let you know. You then have the option to change the type of font and resubmit your story.

4. All stories will be submitted to me via email so I can post it. Under Subject you must write: Guest Story. Otherwise, I will regard it as spam and delete it. Also, I reserve the right to reject any stories I feel are inappropriate. Pretty much a common sense thing, but here are just a few things to consider
   
     -Please use bad language sparingly
     -Violence is fine, but let's keep it from venturing into a Saw movie
     -Scenes of intimacy are allowed, however, nothing too graphic or detailed in terms of sexual content                  
     -Any story that encourages and condones illegal activity of the readers will be rejected. For example, you can write a story wherein a man robs a store. But by no means should the story advocate such actions in real life and encourage readers to do so. Let's be responsible writers.
     -Any stories that are racist or promote discriminatory behavior will be rejected. You many write a story about racism or a person being discriminated against, but you may not encourage such beliefs.

5. When you submit your story, please provide a rating. Think of it as a movie. Is it rated G? PG? PG-13? and so on. I do this so any readers can know whether or not they will want to read it at a glance. (This is primarily for the sake of parents with kiddos). If you fail to recommend a rating, I will read the story and give it the rating I deem fit.


6.Though it's been stated, I'd just like to clarify. YOU DO NOT SET UP THE LINKS TO YOUR BLOG/SITE. If you have a relevant blog or site, include a link in the email along with your story so I can check it out. If I deem it appropriate, I'll be more than happy to create the link for you.

7. Under no circumstances are you allowed to promote any products of any kind. This is a place of sharing stories, not selling irrelevant products. If people click on a link to your site, then by all means, sell what you want, it's your site. But you cannot include it or embed anything your're selling in the story itself. Failure to comply will result in your site being banned from this blog.

8. All stories must include your name so I can attribute your work to you. If privacy is a concern, any alias will do. Any alias must be something anyone could read without feeling offended, whether they be four years old or ninety. Nothing crude, vulgar,sexual, racist, you get the idea.

9. All stories must be at least 500 words (About a page) and no more than 7,500 words (About 25 pages). Of course, if you have a story that's a little bit under or over I will post it anyway if it's not under or over by too much. Say for example you submit a 300 word story or a 9,500 word story, chances are I won't post it. You get the idea.

My Guarantee to you: Worse case scenario? I reject your story. You may revise your story and resubmit it or you may submit a new story. I promise you, by my integrity and in good faith, I will never use any of your rejected work and pawn it off as my own. It's your story.
